First Aid Beauty Resurfacing Liquid

First Aid Beauty have recently launched a new product – the Resurfacing Liquid 10% AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), which I have been testing out for the last month. It’s my first venture into the world of AHAs as I don’t think I’ve really needed them before so I was very interested in seeing how they work.

If you are not familiar with alpha hydroxy acids, here is a little starter information – AHAs are derived from fruit and milk sugars and work mainly as an intense exfoliant. By getting rid of dead skin, new skin comes through for a smoother and younger look. The side effects can include skin irritation and sun sensitivity. You should always wear sunscreen when using AHA’s….well you should really be using sunscreen on the daily anyway but especially when using AHAs. Visions of Samantha Jones post chemical peel jump to mind here and you definitely want to avoid that situation! Ha

So I’ve been testing the First Aid Beauty Resurfacing Liquid and so far the results are good! The product comes in a dropper style package making it very easy to control the amount used. Directions are to apply one full pump to the face avoiding the eye and lip area. I didn’t have any skin irritation or reaction to the product although I did have a tiny cut on my finger and it burned!!! Finger was on immediate fire and I had to make a mad dash to wash my hands. Important lesson here and note to self – DO NOT use AHAs when you have a cut on your hand!

After a month of use, my skin definitely looks smoother. As for reducing fine lines and wrinkles, well I can’t really tell there because I don’t have any fine lines except for around my eyes and as per the above instructions – you aren’t supposed to put this product around your eyes! I would say the FAB Resurfacing Liquid is well suited for those in their mid 30s and up who are looking for smoother, brighter and more even toned skin. It’s an especially great choice if you are just starting to venture into AHAs. The website also says that this is suitable for people with sensitive skin although if you have very sensitive skin, I would recommend to test patch a sample first because it is quite strong.

The AHA Resurfacing Liquid can be purchased at Sephora or online here:
