Drug Store Beauty Finds & One Surprising Dupe

I recently did a piece on Best Beauty Finds at Shoppers Drug Mart over on Influenster.com

While I was conducting “research” (aka shopping around the Beauty Boutique) for this article, I came across the new Lise Watier Dramatique Gel Liners and had to do a double take. They bear a striking similarity to the Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon.

I’m not usually one to look for dupes because although you may be able to find a similar shade or finish, I always find that the quality or feel is still slightly off. I have to say though, in the case of the Lise Watier Gel Eyeliners there really isn’t a difference.

If I had to be super picky and I mean really looking hard for something to find a difference about then perhaps the Lise Watier pencil is slightly softer than the Marc Jacobs pencil. Both are soft and glide on beautifully, both have excellent wear and are great for the waterline. Once dried down, they last for ages! They both come with a sharpener built into the end, both are made in Korea. I’d be surprised if they weren’t made in the same factory to be honest.

Left – Marc Jacobs Ro(Cocoa), Right – Lise Watier Cappucino

There is a limited shade selection in the Lise Watier version as they only offer 7 shades vs. Marc Jacobs (34 various shades and finishes). However if you tend to stick to black, brown, grey then shade selection probably isn’t a concern.

Lise Watier Dramatique Gel Liner retails for $25 CAD at Shoppers Drug Mart. Marc Jacobs Highliner retails for $31 CAD at Sephora.
