March break is almost here and whether you are jetting off to a tropical paradise, discovering a big city or exploring your own neighbourhood, here are a few beauty essentials to keep you fabulous! Continue reading “March Break Getaway Essentials”
I’ve been having some severely dry skin around my left eye recently. It seemed to be getting progressively worse and more red and irritated by the day. No matter what eye cream I tried, nothing seemed to fix this issue and to be honest, I think a lot of it is from lack of sleep. I basically haven’t slept for more than a 4-5 hour stretch at one time in over 7 months now (I don’t know who these people are that have babies who “sleep through the night” from a young age, I certainly don’t have one of those babies and am still waiting for 7-8 hours just once!). I’ve decided to challenge myself for a month and switch over to using more clean products that are better for you. Perhaps not the most glamorous or luxurious beauty routine but I’ve decided that if I could even find one or two products that are cleaner and work well then I’d like to switch over on a regular basis. It’s also an opportunity to explore some products that I wouldn’t typically try. Continue reading “The ‘Cleaner’ Product Challenge and My New App Addiction”
So my curiosity finally got the better of me and although the Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer from Hello FAB wasn’t really suited to me, I couldn’t not test the Superfruit Color Correcting Cushion.
I did wait until the product had landed in store so I could go and play with it instead of blindly ordering online. I was actually quite impressed with the light and fresh texture and luminous but non-shiny finish. So here I am, back with another review from the Hello FAB line. Continue reading “Hello FAB Superfruit Correcting Cushion Review”
I have found magic in a jar, yes dear readers this moisturizer is so good that I will even forgive the jar packaging! Peter Thomas Roth has very recently released Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Cream and it’s nothing short of amazing. Continue reading “Moisturizer Magic – Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench”
Happy New Year everyone! What better way to start 2017 than by having a quick recap of the Top 10 most used products of 2016, so let’s get to it. Here are my top 10…. Continue reading “Top 10 of 2016”
Hope you all enjoyed some time off over the holidays! Food, drinks, time with friends/family and maybe some good Boxing Day deals? I’ve been spending time with family and enjoying Poppy’s first Christmas so haven’t really given a lot of thought to getting out to do any Boxing Day (which has turned into boxing week) shopping but I did notice that there were several websites with some great discounted beauty items. Sephora had several $15 specials on boxing day, MAC had up to 40% off on certain sets and limited edition releases, Hudson’s Bay and Bobbi Brown also had deeply discounted items. Some of them are still going so you may want to take advantage now before things run out.
And now that the excitement of Christmas has died down, it’s time to get ready to ring in 2017. New Year’s Eve is coming up fast and it’s always fun to get dressed up and put on a glitzy outfit and some glam makeup for the night.
Here are four different makeup look ideas across various price ranges to help you ring in the new year: Continue reading “New Year’s Eve Glam Makeup – 4 Looks”
Some very exciting products being launched over the next couple of weeks! Here’s what’s coming soon to a Sephora store near you 🙂
Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection
If the Peach blush looks familiar that’s because it’s a relaunch of a product that used to be part of the Too Faced line. Many of us are super excited to see this again!! They have brought it back along with some new peachy companions. Continue reading “New Beauty Product Launches”
Welcome back for the final instalment of the Christmas Gift Guide – the $50+ list. I realize that’s a rather ambiguous amount as this could mean a $75 item or something that’s $900. I’ve capped the higher end at around $130 because that seems like a reasonable amount without getting overly extravagant and the purpose of this gift guide is to keep things relatively affordable. Also several of the non beauty items are currently on sale, hurray!! Continue reading “Christmas Gift Guide – Over $50”
Welcome back to the Christmas Gift Guide, today we are taking a look at the $20-$50 price range. The nice thing about gift sets is that you have the option to part some of the items out and use them for stocking stuffers or just as a smaller gift. Like the below set for example, you could easily split this into 2 smaller gifts of 1 cream + lip conditioner per person. Or if you have a shopping problem and tend to buy Christmas gifts as one for you, one for me then this might suit you well….not that I know anyone like that.
