Hope you all enjoyed some time off over the holidays! Food, drinks, time with friends/family and maybe some good Boxing Day deals? I’ve been spending time with family and enjoying Poppy’s first Christmas so haven’t really given a lot of thought to getting out to do any Boxing Day (which has turned into boxing week) shopping but I did notice that there were several websites with some great discounted beauty items. Sephora had several $15 specials on boxing day, MAC had up to 40% off on certain sets and limited edition releases, Hudson’s Bay and Bobbi Brown also had deeply discounted items. Some of them are still going so you may want to take advantage now before things run out.
And now that the excitement of Christmas has died down, it’s time to get ready to ring in 2017. New Year’s Eve is coming up fast and it’s always fun to get dressed up and put on a glitzy outfit and some glam makeup for the night.
Here are four different makeup look ideas across various price ranges to help you ring in the new year: Continue reading “New Year’s Eve Glam Makeup – 4 Looks”
Hello FAB….goodbye memory.
My last blog post was about some very exciting new product launches from two great brands; Bite Beauty and Too Faced. If you missed that post, you can check it out here. The whole time I was writing that post, I had the feeling like I was missing something and just couldn’t remember for the life of me what it was. I apparently have the memory of a goldfish these days and of course I remembered later that night, what it was. First Aid Beauty has launched their new Hello FAB line and I’ve been oogling these products for a while now, waiting until they became available. They are available online at First Aid Beauty and at Sephora but still not in-store. Here are the four new exciting products that are part of Hello FAB Continue reading “Hello FAB”
Welcome back to the Christmas Gift Guide, today we are taking a look at the $20-$50 price range. The nice thing about gift sets is that you have the option to part some of the items out and use them for stocking stuffers or just as a smaller gift. Like the below set for example, you could easily split this into 2 smaller gifts of 1 cream + lip conditioner per person. Or if you have a shopping problem and tend to buy Christmas gifts as one for you, one for me then this might suit you well….not that I know anyone like that. Tis the time of year to start thinking about what to get everyone. There are a lot of gift guides coming out at this time of year and they often split out the gifts by person (mum, dad, kids, significant other, grandparents, school teacher, dog, neighbour and on and on). I’m going to keep it simple and in three easy categories; under $20, $20-$50 and $50+.
So without further delay, here are some gift ideas for under $20. These are perfect for stocking stuffers, a secret santa exchange or a host gift. You don’t have to spend a lot to get something nice! Continue reading “Christmas Gift Guide – Under $20”
Something I’ve had on my beauty wishlist for a long time is the By Terry Baume de Rose. It’s a highly conditioning lip balm with a beautiful rose scent. I don’t think it was actually available in Canada until recently when Saks Fifth Avenue opened and they are now carrying the brand. I was very on the fence about buying it though because the 0.35oz jar costs $76 CAD. The lipgloss style tube format costs $67 CAD, it’s hard to justify paying that much for a lip balm. I decided to have a look for it in England to see if it was any cheaper in price. Continue reading “Some Random Beauty Bits”
It seems like there are a million brushes to choose from so I can see how this could quickly become a very overwhelming task for someone who is new to makeup tools. You actually don’t need a lot of brushes, just a few basic staples. So if you are looking to put together a basic set of great every day use brushes then this post’s for you!
