If you’re like me then you probably haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet. Well actually that’s not true, I’ve bought a Mrs Potato Head toy but that’s about it. No need to panic though, this year my holiday gift guide is made for the last minute shopper! And seeing as we have no time to waste, let’s dive right in……

Holiday Party Bag Essentials

With holiday party season in full swing, it’s always handy to have a few beauty essentials that will take your 9-5 look into party mode without much fuss. I have two criteria for what makes a good party bag essential; 1. it needs to be quick and hassle free 2. it needs to be small so I can fit it into my small bag. Here are six (+ an honourable mention) that I’ve been loving recently!

Hydrating Lip Balms

One of the things that I love about living in Canada are the seasons and weather-wise we really do get one extreme to another so I’m always on the hunt for a good lip balm especially once the cold weather starts. I’ve got a couple tried and true options and three newer lip balms that I’ve been testing out recently, let’s start with those!

FabFitFun Fall Box Review

Aaaaand I’m back! As I’ve sat down to write this post, it’s come to my attention that I haven’t posted in 24 days which is neglectful to say the least. Although maybe some of you were grateful for the break, ha! Let’s all ease back in with a review of the Fall FabFitFun box.

If FFF is new to you, it’s a subscription service box that is delivered quarterly and contains an array of seasonal items – fashion, beauty, fitness & lifestyle. I personally enjoy the boxes because:

WOWder

There’s a new loose powder on the beauty scene….sorry WOWder not powder. It’s from Glossier and normally I wouldn’t bother with a loose powder (for many reasons) but I’ve also been enjoying so many of the brand’s products that I decided to give it a go.

You can order it with the cute pink handled brush or just the powder alone. It was tempting to get the combo set but I really don’t need any more brushes so I just went for the powder alone which sells for a very reasonable $27 CAD. I got the shade Light/Medium (it only comes in 3 options) and it blends in seamlessly with my skin.

The blog turns 1 today! I can’t believe it’s been a year already. I started this blog just after my daughter was born and in a way, it’s really become my second baby.

The Ordinary

This brand has been buzzed about so much over the last year. I have to admit that it piqued my interest but I was also skeptical about the price point. How could something so cheap be fully effective? I get the “no frills” thing and I’m a big fan of skincare just getting to the point and omitting dyes and perfumes (a la First Aid Beauty style) but this just seems almost too cheap. So I delved into testing out a few products to see what all the fuss is about.

Glossier has finally arrived in Canada, woohoo!!! Previously Glossier only delivered within the US and even if you had a US address to send the product to, you needed to have a US zip code billing address in order to use your credit card. It was pretty much mission impossible for Canadians to get their hands on Glossier unless you were visiting the show room in New York.
